Shipping Policy

Ordering

All orders must be paid for when your place your order.  The website system we use does not enable us to put a hold on funds and charge those funds to you when we dispatch the goods.

For postage within Australia 

We use Australia Post – Parcel Post or Express Post to ship your orders.

Standard domestic shipping is priced at $14.95 per order.

Express delivery within Australia is available for $16.95.

Shipping is free when you spend over $125 in a single transaction.

For delivery outside of Australia

We use Australia Post for international deliveries. Postage rates apply. All parcels are counted as ‘Delivery Duties Unpaid’ (or DDU), which means that the receiver has to pay for any potential duties or charges associated with the parcel.  

The full value of your order is stated on the customs declaration. We have no control over any customs/duty/sales tax charges you may have to pay for your order when it enters your country, these are your responsibility and are not refundable by us. All overseas orders are subject to customs procedures within the country of purchase, which may affect the delivery time.

Many parcels won’t require any import duties to be paid, because they’ll fall under the country’s low-value threshold. If duties do need to be paid, the local postal or customs authority for that country will most likely get in touch with the receiver of the parcel to organise for the customer to either:

  • Pay online before collecting the parcel
  • Pay in-person when collecting the parcel 
  • Pay upon the delivery of the parcel

If your order is returned due to not being collected or refused for non-payment of taxes/duty it will be subject to a $35 or 10% of order value (whichever is greater), plus an outbound shipping charge and re-stocking fees. If you wish it to be resent you will need to pay for reposting – this will range from $20-30 regardless of the initial postage cost and must be paid before your order is re-shipped to you. Packaging 

We use special cardboard mailers, designed to carry multiple records securely. The mailers are made with multiple layers of sturdy cardboard, providing strong protection for your valuable purchase. They also have enough padding to prevent bent corners and other potential damage.

Each item is carefully packaged with great attention to detail, ensuring its safety while it's being transported. 

In the rare event that an item arrives damaged, we will file an incident claim with Australia Post. 

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept PayPal, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Zip, and AfterPay.

How do I know when my item is on its way?

Once your order is on its way, you will receive a confirmation email from us with tracking information.

What if I haven't received my order?

We suggest you check the tracking details provided for your order, as this will give you an indication of your estimated delivery date.

If this has passed and still do not have your items, or it says they have been delivered but you cannot locate your items, please contact Australia Post directly to locate your package. In the case that your item has been delivered and you are unable to locate it, you may be required to file a police report to instigate a claim with Australia Post.

Should your order include a pre-order vinyl, we will dispatch all of your items collectively once the pre-ordered item is released.

Can I return an item?

If you receive damaged, defective, or incorrect item(s) from Vinyl Messi you may return the product(s) within 14 days of delivery. The customer is responsible for covering the shipping costs to return the item.

When we receive the item(s) and verify the return of product(s), we will send you a replacement(s) or issue a full refund for the item. Please be aware that original shipping costs are non-refundable.

Please note that cover artwork, vinyl colour and track listings are provided as an indication and may vary from the actual product.

There is no change of mind for overseas (non-Australian) orders.

Dispatch

We are usually able to dispatch in stock items within 24 to 48 hours. Should this change due to demand then the estimated dispatch time will update on the product page. For example (please note the below time frames are subject to change dependent on the present situation - check the time provided on the product page for current the dispatch time):

Orders for titles marked "IN STOCK" and "typically ships in 1 to 3 days" are titles stocked in our warehouse and will generally be dispatched within 1 to 3 working days(*).

Orders for titles marked "pre-order" are pre-order titles and will be dispatched once received; generally on or around the release date shown (*). If there is a later estimated dispatch date provided then that is when we are expecting to dispatch. There may be production or transit delays. Pre-order titles are generally dispatched on or around the release date, and then will generally take up to 5 business days to arrive.

Orders for titles marked with any longer dispatch time frame are titles which are NOT in stock at our store, and these have to be ordered in from one of our suppliers. Please check the estimated dispatch time frame provided for when we expect to be able to dispatch these to you.

(*) PLEASE NOTE: Orders ship when complete - if you place an order for items with different processing times the longer of all the times will apply to your entire order. If you order with express shipping this does not mean the time it takes us to dispatch your order is reduced, rather this shortens the time it will take your order to reach you once dispatched.

PLEASE NOTE: we reserve the right to cancel orders for any reason, including but not limited to errors in relation to listing details and price.

Change Of Address

Please note we will not change the address on any order placed using Paypal as a payment method.  If you want to change your address where you used other payment method some restrictions apply, please contact us to confirm prior to your order being shipped.

Shipping times

Shipping times vary for each item:

  • Sydney metro locations: within 1 to 2 working days of dispatch
  • Melbourne and Brisbane metro locations: within 2 to 3 working days of dispatch
  • Perth and Adelaide metro locations: within 4 to 5 working days of dispatch
  • All other Australian regional and country locations: between 7 and 10 working days from dispatch (the longer period only applies to remote locations)
  • Overseas can typically take between 2 to 3 weeks to arrive.  Service to the UK is generally quite quick and can arrive in around a week, which is often the case for other countries around Europe.  Service to the US generally takes around 2 weeks.

If you do not receive your order within the specified timeframe please first check your tracking information, where provided, check with your local post office as often they can hold shipments and occasionally not notify the recipient. If you need any additional help please contact us.

Authority to leave 

Vinyl Messi uses Australia Post for all deliveries. The majority of our orders are sent with tracking and must be signed for. You are now able to choose to grant authority to leave during checkout without the postie obtaining a signature if you wish; granting authority to leave without a signature is at your own risk. Please note you MUST select this option during the checkout process if you want this, or the parcel will be sent as requiring a signature. It is possible Australia Post may deem it unsafe to leave a parcel at your address even if you do select this option, in which case they will take your order to the local post office. 

If you grant Australia Post authority to leave your order in a safe place when your order is in transit to you, and after it has left us, then authority to leave without a signature is again at your own risk.

Once your order has been processed you will receive a notification of dispatch email with the tracking number. This tracking number will be activated at around 5pm of the business day the email was sent. If you received your email after 3pm on a Friday, then tracking may not be activated until 5pm on the following Monday.

It is your responsibility to check your tracking and advise us immediately of any parcel stated as delivered which you have not received, or of any parcel which appears to have any significant delivery delay past what has been notified by Australia Post on their tracking page for your delivery. You must notify us within a maximum of 30 days after dispatch date if you have not yet received your order.

Reshipping

Customers are responsible for ensuring their shipping address is accurate at checkout. If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, a re-shipping fee of $11.95 will apply before the item can be sent again. We'll contact you via the email provided for address confirmation and reshipping arrangements. Refunds for undelivered orders will be considered case-by-case and may not apply if the address error is customer-related. 

Pre-Orders

Please note pre-orders must be paid for and are charged in advance of release and shipping.  We do not take reservations on pre-order titles due to previous experience with customer cancellations and being left with unsellable stock. You may at any time cancel any order for a pre-order title by providing notification to us by email (please include your order number).

Placing a pre-order does not guarantee that you will receive the title ordered. Titles may be delayed, cancelled, or short delivered, or may otherwise become unavailable for other reasons. Should the title become unavailable you will be offered a refund or an equivalent alternative of the same or lesser price.

We reserve the right to limit pre-orders where we do not receive enough stock to satisfy all orders placed for that title.

Record Store Day "RSD" Event and Orders Instore and Online

Vinyl Messi participates in the annual event called Record Store Day. There are specific restrictions regarding the sale of RSD titles which include that these titles may not be sold prior to the event, reserved, or held over for sale. Additionally, all sales are limited to 1 copy per person. Where an RSD title is sold online for the avoidance of doubt a person is defined as someone using an email address at a physical location. As such we reserve the right to cancel orders where more than 1 copy of a title has been ordered for delivery to the same physical address and ordered using the same email address. RSD titles cannot be shipped to international addresses.

Any order placed in violation of RSD rules/regulations and our policies relating to RSD products is subject to cancellation.  The refund of the payment made for these orders is subject to our Refund and Cancellation policy.  Fees will be deducted from any refund as stated in the Refund and Cancellation policy.
